For our shower and drinking water filters, we use filter materials that are as natural and certified as possible from renowned manufacturers in Germany. The rivaALVA filter housings are made of bioganical material.
bioganical®: Cartridge casings made from renewable and organic raw materials, as well as minerals and biological additives such as natural resins/waxes. Bio-based, biodegradable. Does not contain any petroleum-based plastics.

ONE FITS ALL – riva VARIO housing
A riva aluminum or stainless steel housing for all filter cartridges. You have maximum flexibility and can even combine and screw together several housings—a perfect modular system. Our housings are laboratory-certified by a recognized institute and pressure-tested up to a maximum of 30 bar. Normal household pressure is 3–4 bar.

My husband bought the rivaALVA Life filter in the spring. I was skeptical at first, but now I'm definitely a fan!
Unfortunately, I have a chlorine allergy, and the drinking water here is chlorinated and very hard (Black Forest). Drinking tap water straight from the tap, for example for my SodaStream, was not possible; I always had to boil it first. With the filter, I can drink tap water straight from the tap without any problems and without having to worry about allergies and intolerances.
Today we bought our replacement filter directly from riva in Aldingen. We received a friendly welcome, had everything we needed within a few minutes, enjoyed a nice chat, received helpful suggestions, and overall felt that we were welcome and valued as customers.
Excellent service, not only on site, but also online and over the phone.
If you are considering buying a water filter, I would wholeheartedly recommend Riva. I was a little put off by the price (around €100), but when I calculate how much I have spent on boiling water and similar measures, it is definitely worth it.
The replacement cartridges cost less than €25 and you need about 2-3 per year. Installation is easy, as is replacing the filter. If you encounter any problems, you can find lots of information and help on the website, and you can also get advice and explanations over the phone—and if that doesn't help, you can send everything in (or drop by in person if you live nearby).

How often should you change a water filter?
Cartridge replacement / riva replacement cartridge
When choosing and purchasing a water filter system , it is of course important to consider not only what a water filter does, but also how often you need to change it. Jug filters need to be changed frequently and are often expensive. The replacement cartridge usually needs to be changed very often, which can of course be very costly and have a significant environmental impact.
Most riva cartridges only need to be replaced twice a year, i.e. every 6 months. Of course, this always depends on the quality of the incoming water.

With the rivaALVA water filter series we have developed, we are taking a different approach. In order to use materials that are as natural and resource-friendly as possible, we use a bioganical that is bio-based and free of petroleum-based plastics.
